Travelling to Turkey

Sharing with you some of the photos we took from our trip to Turkey courtesy of www.cheapholidays.com/turkey/. Literally took hundreds of photos and I had a hard time choosing which ones to post. Turkey has over 7200km of coastline, with the Black Sea region in the north and the Mediterranean Sea region or the Turkish Reverie in the south.

There's so much to see and do in terms of natural wonders and historical places of interest; the travertines are just beautiful, the Hierapolis ruins are interesting, the fine theater are excellent, well-restored example of Roman architecture, the museums are good, and a swim in the Sacred Pool a memorable experience

Pamukkale, meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey. The city contains hot springs and travertines, terraces.

The landscape was formed by volcanic ashes and lava, and 2000 or more years ago, people in that time discovered that the stones are soft they started carving it and make it their shelter, now most of these caves are luxus hotel for the tour.

The snowy white terraces of water falls are made from lime stones and the warm water is coming from a natural hot spring

  2. These are truly amazing photos, and especially enjoyed seeing the "cave hotel" that you stayed in. So fascinating that hotels are being made out of these. Just read an article about a similar "hotel" in Italy. Looks as if you had an amazing trip and will look forward to many more of these shots!
