Rubber Mulch by RubberEcycle

The colorful rubber ground cover caught my attention when I pass by the park one afternoon while walking Cottonball.  A week earlier, a group of four people were working in the park putting down new playground toys - swing set and slide, gorilla playset, and water fountain. One of the workers told me they will put rubber mulch on the playground surfaces.  Rubber Mulch is a unique rubber granules made from 100% scrap tires.  It is safe, economical, they last long and environment-friendly.

This is now very common in school playgrounds, they come in different colors, they are long lasting and economical ground cover that will keep the yard looking beautiful and healthy. The rubber mulch serves as in insulating cover for the soil that allows water and nutrients in the soil and also blocking the weeds from coming out.

The playground surfacing is safe for children and reduced the number of playground related injuries. Parents can relax now while watching their kids have a great time in the playground.

Looking at the environment, it is also important and with this product it is very protective of our environment and it lasts for many years.  If rubber can hold up on the highways under the weight of a car how much more will it withstand the tiny feet of children or even horses--to me this product is very exciting.

Rubberecycle started in 1996 when they introduced rubber surfacing products in the military, commercial playgrounds and residential markets. Today, they are the leader in the rubber surfacing which they manufacture from scrap tires.

  3. I have not seen this type of rubber mulch in the playgrounds Teyla and I frequent around here. It looks great and does sound much safer than the usual grass or rubber "peanuts." I am always on my feet and nervous when we are at the playground, specially since I have a child who loves to climb. I hope we get this type of rubber surfacing in the parks around here. It would definitely help me breathe easier, and I'm sure it would prevent a lot of accidents, too. Thank you, buddy Chay, for this informative article.

  4. PS - Also, I am a big fan of recycling, so it makes me happy to hear that they have now come up with a very good use for old tires!
