Instagram

Instagram Mosaic I Simply Snipped from my Facebook Wall

I finally have created my own account at instagram, which is another photo sharing website. My purpose of signing up is to have an easy access to editing such as cropping, changing themes and using photo filter to my cell phone photos. I still am finding my way how to use instagram. Below are my first instagram photos. I took them using my cell phone through instagram, then used the cropping feature or photo filter or both.

All pictures in this post were taken during our tidepooling at Dike Rock Tidepool, north of Scripps Pier, in La Jolla Shores last weekend.

How about you? Do you use instagram? Do you use it more for photo sharing, or do you use it like what I plan to do, an easy access to use photo filter which our cell phone cameras do not have?

  1. I have instagram app installed on my mobile device but never get myself started by signing in with another account. I think with facebook, flickr, blogger, and many other social network i'm already in, it's hard to find time to update them.

But with the samples of photos you showed here, with some decent enhancement capability, i may give it a second look. Thanks for sharing

  3. Oh no! I deleted my instagram not thinking much of its editing capabilities. I have very few friends using it, so I thought its too much work to post in FB and instagram.

Now after seeing this, I might reactivate it. Thanks Beth for the info!

  11. Beth, for a newbie on Instagram, you did very well using their features! I enjoyed viewing all your starfish/beach pictures. I have already told you that I am a big fan of starfishes, and specially after you shared with me how starfish like to cluster together for "strength in numbers." I thought that's so clever of them. They are creatures with minds so much smaller than ours, and yet they know that they are safer when together they stand. I also like how all the starfish in your Instagram mosaic look very healthy and thriving. They must get enough to eat in that part of the beach. This was near your place, right? I also like how you threw in a photo of those beautiful moss-covered rocks. Sort of to break the monotony of all starfish photos:) I love to see moss on rocks. Anytime we go to a river here, or go walking through the woods and I see moss on a rock, I can't stop myself from reaching out and touching it:) Not sure why. Just that I like that cool, velvet feeling. And also, I like that the green color of moss adds brilliance to many otherwise dull colored rocks. It was a treat to see all these nature photos today, Beth. Thank you for sharing and for telling us about Instagram. I just might look that up!
