Bottle Brush Flower

Who knows how long this plant has been standing  next to our community mailbox.  I walked next to it, saw it many times, but  never paid close attention to it.  One day while I was browsing blogs, I came across Icy's entry "Bottle Brush Flowers"  and I thought how interesting and pretty those flowers are. Later that afternoon when I picked up the mail, I happen to look at that tree with red flowers again and sure enough it was the same flowers I saw on Icy's blog.

I went back the next day with my camera and  took several pictures of this beautiful flower.
