Making Diet and Exercise a Family Activity


     Our family is very blessed in some ways and not-so-blessed in others.  This blog could be an endless list of the countless blessings we have but there is a short not-so-blessed list.  One of the main issues we face as a family is the ability to gain weight if we do not watch it on a daily basis.  One of the big strengths is we love to be together and do activities outside.  In our home we have a pool which we enjoy, we live in a quiet neighborhood with two beautiful parks within walking distance, and we love to bike and play sports together.  The other thing we like is to grill outside and eat.  But most of all we love to be together as a family doing something.

     Springtime is upon us and it is time to grill nice dinners on our grill island and increase our outside play time as a family.  My wife and daughter seem to have an easier time keeping their weight in check.  It appears when we have a large dinner cooked on the grill they can ride their bikes, walk for a few days in a row, or swim and their weight does not fluctuate.  My weight issue has been something we discuss many times since it appears I can walk past food and gain weight just by smell alone.  Does anyone else have this problem?  So, this weekend our family spent several hours cleaning all of our bikes, tightening chains, wheels, brake pads, and inflating our variety of air filled balls.  It is a family ritual this time of the year.  In the early evening we grilled some steaks and chicken and a desert ice drink (non-alcoholic) my wife makes and we all enjoy.  It was our first dinner in a few months around our BBQ island.  It was family time outside again.

  I suggested to keep my weight off this year I would add the Dieta Atkins to my family exercise routines.  I like the Atkins diet and have used it before.  With this diet I enjoy my meat and eggs but limit my veggies and alcohol. It is a seamless diet for me and combined with the family exercise we do, my weight seems to go down.  My daughter enjoys the dieta mediterranea and uses it all year long as a habit.  With this diet there are over 400 recipies to try so no one every becomes bored with the selections.  When I begin my initial diet I start off using a short term diet called the dieta Fricker . This is a short term diet which allows me to lose weight quickly over a 8-week period of time.  When summer is in full bloom I go to the Atkins diet.  It is a hard thing to keep the weight off for me however these diet plans work wonders for me.  Long live the family and eating right with exercise I hope it gives me a long time to be with my family.
