When we moved to San Francisco, I knew that I wanted to open up a small café business. I had a wealth of recipes saved over many years from my grandmother who we called Granny. I got everything together to open the restaurant. We found a location, hired the staff, bought the furnishings, and decorated the place to perfection. My dad told me we should get our internet through XO Sanfrancisco. Then I planned the whole menu around my Granny’s recipes. We had a few pre-opening parties where we invited important people from the city, and one for just friends, then finally a party for just family. We come from a very big family. Everyone seemed to love the food. We even got a really good write-up in the local newspaper. I could not have been more thrilled. Some of my favorites on the menu include chicken and dumplings, peanut butter pie, fried chicken, melt in your mouth biscuits, and of course the fried green tomatoes. The only thing missing when the restaurant opened was my Granny because she had already passed away. I know that she would have been my biggest fan and patron.
Granny's Cafe sounds perfect for a small business cafe. :)
