Salitype Weight Loss Buddies

 What could be a more difficult New Year’s Resolution to keep than losing weight ?  Losing weight could be easy, but keeping the pounds off is another story.  My friend MJ and I have been doing the weight loss buddy up program for two years now. Last our friends Tes and Ruthi joined our weight loss buddy up program which made it more enjoyable and fun.  We started our diets after  the left over holiday foods are gone. Since we have been using the buddy up program we have realized great results.  All of us achieved our goal weights and we can now look good and feel comfortable wearing skinny jeans and tank tops. 

 Losing weight requires a lot of motivation, emotional support, a little kick from behind at times, and a pats on the back.  This is how our weigh loss buddy up program works. We hop on the scale each day, take picture of the weight that registers on the scale, and share it with the group.  We work together to create eating habit plans that work for us and share it with the group. We share photos of our meals, recipes, and our daily activities to burn calories.  Weekly we compare our achievements and give support and encouragement to meet the needs of everyone.  But the weight loss program is only part of what we gain from the buddy up program; we enjoy the daily communication, the exchange of thoughts and ideas on a regular basis, and our friendship.

 This year we discovered a program called Race to the Moon hosted by Social Network  Cafe Well and sponsored by HealthAmerica. Race to the Moon is a wellness program open to members of HealthAmerica.  Non-members can also register to be a member and enjoy all its features, benefits, fun challenges, discussion groups and advice from experts in this field.   The health care industry finds social networking sites like Tweeter, Facebook and others as a powerful tool to get ideas, support, and spread the message across the globe. 

 To be a member, one has to sign up on the social network  called  Cafe Well.  It is a social network that connects the member with other members in a safe and secure place to share your health care interests and needs, get advice from experts and join the fun challenges.  CaféWell exists for one reason “health”. A safe place to get information about health issues, receive tips on healthy lifestyles, and challenges. 

 Workout challenges with my girlfriends works for me and my girlfriends since it is just like what we have been doing for the past two years.  This year, for a change, we signed up  with Cafe Well and joined a group who share the same interests as we do.  We are excited  with the new information we get from other members and we are looking forward to a healthier lifestyle this year.
