Old Harry Rock







The Old Harry Rock are 2 chalk sea stalk located on the Isle of Purbeck, Southern England. It is in the east part of the Jurassic Coast which stretches 150 kilometers from the west and ends to these geological wonder here at the east. This long coastline comprises of rock formation dated back to Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous age - which span 185 million of our earth's history. This along with the other wonderful part of this magnificent coastline is a declared UNESCO Heritage Site.

I have never heard of chalk sea stalks before, eng, so your post was not only a delight to my eyes (you always share the most exquisite photographs!), but it was educational as well. and i do think the name is apt - those rocks do resemble stalks of chalk jutting out of the sea!:) how very cool! i find it amazing that these magnificent rock formations have withstood sun and storm and all other elements through the centuries. and now, UNESCO has taken steps to continually preserve these natural landmarks so that generations to come will continue to marvel at their beauty. God bless UNESCO. God bless these awesome chalk sea stalks. and God bless you, eng, for capturing these beautiful natural wonders on camera and sharing them with us, your friends.
