Moments

Driving in my car I started singing along to a song that says these words, " Impossible is not a word... it is a reason for someone not to try " … the lyrics of this song helped me make a decision to go back to school and start a new career. Since in my heart I believe nothing is impossible; I decided to go for it. It was a childhood dream to work in the hospital as a nurse. There was something about helping sick people feel better that sounds so fulfilling to me. This dream has been put off for years; there was not a need for me to go back to school as I was making a good living as an accountant and busy raising a family. One day I woke up and realized the downturn of the economy put my job at risk and I was not prepared with a solid back up plan. I was given an advance notice that my position in the office is one of the many positions at work that might get cut. Instead of feeling bitter about it, I thought to myself this is the chance, I needed to make a change in my life. I went online and looked for school that offers nursing courses and I was fortunate to find one close to work offering night classes and weekend clinical hours. This was the perfect opportunity for me to go to school and keep working until the pink slip lands on my desk.

That was two years ago and the pink slip never arrived however, I just finished my degree and I am now preparing to take the licensure exam to become a licensed practical nurse. My dreams will not end here, I plan to continue my education to pursue my Bachelors of Science in Nursing.

Because of present work, I am looking at the possibility of finishing my BS Nursing online and currently am trying to learn about Walden. With online classes, WaldenU.edu -  they offer a unique flexibility that most colleges and universities do not offer. I can have the flexibility of working and studying at the same time.

Join a growing number of students finding an attractive way to improve their lives through education at  Walden University's online degree programs
