fragmented

if love is to last forever
then why ours has to end
not with joy and laughter
but in harrowing sorrow and despair

if sunset calls for romance
i'll bring a wine or two
to keep the mystique a bit longer
when the sun has lost its glow

if words fail to profess what i feel
i let the flowers eloquently speaks
no words is hardly ever needed
that its beauty and grace cannot expressed

if laughter is the best medicine
why am i still in pain
whenever the thought of you cross my mind
the moment ended up in tears

if memories can fill the gap
of the void you left inside
if tears can only bring you back
i'll made all the wrongs i did be right

  1. oh, what another beautiful poem Eng, so poignant, reminds me of my feelings then when I was much younger and just broke up :-) when I think of those days now, it brings a lot of laughter and I am joyful those existed because they sharpened me well to go through the challenges of life well armored.

  5. this is one of the saddest yet, at the same time, also one of the most beautiful poems i have ever read. awesome job, eng!! took me back to my younger years ... made me remember an ex-boyfriend or two whom i had to break up with (for the record, no one ever broke up with me; i was always the one to tell them it was over). and yet, even though i was the one who said goodbye, there were still moments of sadness and tears. like this one time when i so did not want to end it with a real nice guy i was dating, but alas, i found out too late he was my cousin:( but wait, this it not the time to talk about my love stories, hehe:) i love the emotions you pour into your poems, eng. i love how you capture the thoughts and feelings that flow through just about every heart that has to deal with a farewell. i am eager to read more of your poems. they never fail to move me! thanks, eng!
