Swanage, England

Swanage is a small coastal town in the south east of Dorset, England. The town, originally a small port and fishing village flourish in the Victorian era, when it first became a significant quarrying port and later a seaside resort for the rich of the day.

Today, the town remains a popular tourist resort with many thousands of visitors coming during the summer peak season to enjoy the sandy beaches, the town's rich history and its rustic beauty.

  16. Me and my boyfriend of 3 years want to go for a weekend away in South/South West England at the end of January. We want to be in the countryside and by the sea if possible, most of all we want a town which although secluded and cosy still has a bit of life to it.

  17. NEWQUAY got to be..the most bestest sorry, just noticed you are over 21...best place in the South West of England fantastic ambience, great pubs (the ones with real ale are the best places) just fun..and sea..bring a wet suit, it gets a bit chilly in the sea, but the after surf is ...well....great

  18. The dominant coastal feature of Swanage is the presence of a beach! It's now a small seaside resort rather than its early history as a small port.
